I'm often overcome when I'm with someone who has suffered a great loss, and I respond by writing songs that search for the hope in these situations. This song began as a moment when driving around an older section of Waterloo, Ontario, and noticing the character of the older homes. We've all heard someone say "if only these walls could talk, the stories they would tell". I stretched this to imagine someone suffering the loss of a loved one with whom they shared a house. The house seems to keep memories alive, for better or worse, and I imagine it could be a comfort for the survivor to "share" these memories with the house.

Here I go again, making people cry...
